Meet the Director

Jonathan K. Kreamer, a native of central Pennsylvania, is a graduate of West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. He has been studying the piano since the age of 7 under the supervision of Nevelyn J. Knisley.

While completing his undergraduate work, Jonathan studied vocal performance with Alan Wagner, piano performance with Robert Bedford, and choral conducting with Donald Nally and David DeVenney. He has performed and studied over 35 major choral compositions and been a part of over 20 musical theater productions. He has performed throughout the Susquehanna and Delaware Valleys and has performed with or accompanied the West Chester University Concert Choir, the Reading Choral Society, the Bridge Ensemble, the Brandywine Ballet, the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Mastersingers of Paoli, and the Pittsburgh Symphony.

Jonathan is celebrating his seventh season as the Artistic Director of The Brandywine Singers. Jonathan has conducted us in performances of the Vivaldi Gloria, Handel's Messiah, Duruflé's Requiem, Rutter's Gloria and Britten's Hymn to St. Cecilia.

Jonathan is an active member of the Philadelphia arts community.  He is the Director of Music at Paoli Presbyterian Church located in the heart of the Main Line in Paoli, PA.  At PPC, Jonathan directs the brass ensemble, the bell choir, a 45-voice Sanctuary Choir, and oversees a praise choir and active childrens' music program.

The Sanctuary Choir has recently performed John Rutter’s Requiem, Schubert’s Mass in G, and a new work written by Joseph Martin entitled Lenten Sketches, as well as the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah.

To complete Jonathan’s busy performance schedule, he is also the choral director at E. N. Peirce Middle School in the West Chester Area School District.  He has 470 students involved in three general grade level choirs and one auditioned ensemble. His students have recorded for the National Cherry Blossom Parade in DC and are award-winning ensembles. Jonathan's previous choral director post was in the Upper Darby School District, where he also performed solo piano recitals at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center.

During the summer months, Jonathan spends his time working with the Ocean City Theater Company located in Ocean City, NJ, as their resident musical director.  He has directed the company in performances of Seussical, the Musical, 42nd Street, Wizard of Oz, Hello, Dolly!,  The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and this upcoming season, Oklahoma!, and You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown.  He has also been featured two years in a row at the Ocean City Music Pier for OCTC’s Valentine’s Day Cabaret. AND he is the co-founder of the Ocean City Children’s Chorus (whom we are proud to have perform with TBS) and Vocal Camp.
