Meet the Director 

Jonathan K. Kreamer, a native of central Pennsylvania, is a graduate of West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. He has been studying the piano since the age of 7 under the supervision of Nevelyn J. Knisley.

 

While completing his undergraduate work, Jonathan studied vocal performance with Alan Wagner, piano performance with Robert Bedford, and choral conducting with Donald Nally and David DeVenney. He has performed and studied over 35 major choral compositions and been a part of over 20 musical theater productions. He has performed throughout the Susquehanna and Delaware Valleys and has performed with or accompanied the West Chester University Concert Choir, the Reading Choral Society, the Bridge Ensemble, the Brandywine Ballet, the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Mastersingers of Paoli, and the Pittsburgh Symphony.

 

 

 

 Jonathan is celebrating his fifth season as the Artistic Director of The Brandywine Singers. Jonathan has conducted us in performances of the Vivaldi Gloria, Handel's Messiah, Duruflé's Requiem, Rutter's Gloria and Britten's Hymn to St. Cecilia. Jonathan is also the Director of Music at Paoli Presbyterian Church.


 

 

 

  

Jonathan has also left his mark on the marching band field. While in college he marched the Cadets of Bergen County in 1998 winning the DCI championship. He also performed with the former WGI world class Field of View Indoor Colorguard. He has coached many local high school programs including the North Penn Marching Knights of North Penn School District. Jonathan was also the colorguard caption head and designer for the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from Canton, Ohio from 2000-2003.

 

 

 

 

Jonathan is currently music instructor and choral director at Peirce Middle School in West Chester and has also taught in the Upper Darby School District. He is not a stranger to the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center. He was a performer in the "Grand Night of Piano" a fundraiser for the purchase of a Steinway concert grand and was honored when asked to give the inaugural performance of the new Steinway grand piano. He also gave a solo piano recital there in April 2007.
